Full-Time, 10 + Years of Experience

Back in 2001-2004, I provided child care for a couple for three years. I was their child care provider from the hours of 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. , Monday through Friday.
My duties were providing child care for their three boys, ages 3, 5, and 7, every day after school. The youngest boy had a heart transplant when he was born and then again when he was 2. I was in charge of changing diapers, helping to potty train, and keeping one out of trouble. I also had to make lunch and dinner. I made sure that the boys didn't fight or beat each other up because the 5-year-old had an anger management issue and liked to beat up the 3-year-old. I took the boys to the park when their mother said that it was okay. Most days, I would let the boys out to play in their backyard with their dog because they loved to play. When it was cold outside, I would take the boys to their playroom in their basement and let them play in the basement. I was told to limit their television time so they only got three hours at the most, if they wanted to watch one of their Disney movies. When they did watch their Disney movies, I was then able to make sure that I had all my homework done. I made sure to do my homework when they were watching their movies because I didn't want to chance the boys fighting. After the boys ate dinner, I made sure to bathe them and get them into bed before their parents got home. They have recently moved to another home and were not able to keep in contact with me. When they moved, they lost their personal phone book so they ended up losing my number. I have been taking care of my siblings and cousins since I was 10 years old. I do have plenty of experience with infants, toddlers, kids, preteens, and teens. I am now out of school and a mother. I have a child of my own who is 2 years old. I am now understanding how difficult children can be. If you accept my application, I may bring my own child along with me so that she can have more interaction with kids her own age. Besides that, she's kind of a mommy's girl. I have no problems with pets. We have a few ourselves, three cats and a dog. I love kids. They're fun to be around. With helping others care for their kids, it is helping me to understand what kids need. By having my own, I am understanding how kids think and how defiant they can be. I am learning how they like to test their boundaries with you. With having my own kid and helping to take care of others, I am learning to cope with any stress that kids can cause.
